In this post, I’m showing you a compilation of portraits from Headshots Collection from 2010 to 2013. The compilation includes ten selected works, ranging from photography to photo manipulation.
Those who know me know that I started to create art in 2010. Hence, the pieces shown here are from the early beginnings of my creative journey.
The photographic works in this compilation are Drown, Music makes the ppl…, The Smell of a Rose, Sad Clown, Behind the Scenes and I must be dying. These pieces mainly involve retouching and some coloring effects.
The more manipulated pieces are Removing the Webs of the Past, In the Webs, Transition and Masked in Eternity. The latter one is actually my first more complex photo manipulation where I ventured to create a silver face mask purely in Photoshop.
If you are interested in how I did it, I have an easy step-by-step tutorial for you on how to make someone look metallic in Photoshop!
But now, without further ado, let’s delve in and enjoy my visual artwork along with the beautiful poems written by:
'Removing the Webs of the Past'
A woman stands still,
Unable to talk,
She is a brunette beauty,
Yet silent,
Some say she is too lazy to talk,
Others say she almost had her tongue cut away!!
Some say that sadness blocked her voice away,
In time who really cared, “a quiet person” they would all say,
She felt secure
Being lost in the garden by herself,
Today she saw a hummingbird
So dear!
The hummingbird noticed this silent “bloom,”
Sitting by the cool water,
Eyes looking forward,
No sound,
She looked on the ground,
There sat the hummingbird looking at her,
Then the hummingbird,
Saw the mouth open but no sound,
The bird saw a web inside,
Gently the hummingbird
Picked a piece of web from her mouth,
Fluttering its wings madly,
Pulling on the web frantically,
Slowly, but surely,
The web was coming out!!
Suddenly the hummingbird
Heard a sound
And saw the ladies eyes grow wide,
The web was coming out of where it was inside,
The hummingbird flew backwards,
Taking with it more of the web,
The years of silence broken,
First words spoken
“THANK YOU”

'Drown'
Eyes in trance,
Fixed to a thought out there,
Lips pale,
Telling a saddened tale,
Make up smudged,
But who will care?
Wishing that not her to share,
Starring up,
Here eyes to tell,
She wishes not to be in a living hell,
Make up hides the blueness
That surrounds her eyes,
She is tired of living a life of lies,
Bubbles of air surface,
Soon her face will sink…..
One life gone, with a blink…..

'The Smell of a Rose'
Eyes of Black,
Oh! So sad!
Face once full of life,
Now whitened with pain,
Her life will never be the same,
One last tear she has,
That’s all the eyes can really bare,
Bruised eye sockets,
Crying till time may stand still,
She holds a rose wishing for a scent,
A lost memory that might come alive,
A heart so broken…..
A single tear is her only token…..

'Music makes the ppl...'
Colourful modes of music,
Surrender yourself to the beat,
Such music has such heat,
Share the volume of all pleasure to meet,
Listen to each sound,
There is a pleasant movement of the ground,
The Jazz, the Rock and Roll…
All so might, all have soul,
Imagine the world of many tunes to go,
Seeking passion volume to grow,
Such sound!!
Such base!!
Music so good, you can taste,
Close your eyes,
To see a world of notes
See how the heavenly music floats,
Such a stir in the mind,
Such liquid music see kind,
To create passion on every note…..
For your heart and soul to devote…..

'Masked in Eternity'
Her eyes of wretchedness,
Look out,
There’s a tale of misery,
Can distinctly tell,
The life is a living hell,
But that is only what one can see,
From the gloominess eyes of she,
The mask creates a poker face,
Let not her emotions show,
Never to see a frown,
Nor when she is really down,
Nor see a smile to light up her eyes,
Nor can one really see her lies,
The masked face remains deadpan,
Secure in the knowledge,
That the world will never see the truth,
Not her truth,
BUT
Do I see she to lift the mask to set herself free??
Or is she adjusting the mask
To hide her expression to glee??
Still the eyes,
They cannot hide all,
For the heart will talk of broken dreams,
The mind will show,
That there is still a hidden glow,
There is truth but we may not know…..

'I must be dying'
Tranquil is the face,
Perfect in every way,
Made up no smudge,
Just blood trickling down her mouth,
No stirring, no meaning,
She is just there,
What drama happened,
To leave her so cold??
When her life has so much more to unfold!!
She looks like she is asleep,
Would anyone miss her or weep?
Skin still warm to touch,
Perhaps what happened, proved too much!!
We could question that all day,
All we really can do is pray…..
That God quickly takes her soul away…..
'Sad Clown'
She is a stage of her own,
Her perilous weakens is her throne,
Her weeping eyes look out,
Such woe and despair of doubt,
Doubt who she is and who she should be,
Her face shows a question you can see,
Displace,
Her world of love and grace,
Conflicted mind,
Trying to find,
Answers to the riddle of life,
Whether she is just a toy or going to be a wife,
Sadness prevails this little soul,
Will despair or elation be her goal,
Those piercing eyes,
Are tired of your lies,
They are composing what is right…..
Perhaps it is best to say farewell and goodnight…..

'Behind the Scenes'
In the faded night of late,
There sits a lady waiting for her date,
She has painted eyes and lips,
Thinking about her companionships,
One or more,
Depends on the score,
She will not say who she really is,
For fear of exposing her helplessness,
In responding to bulliness,
For she heart of unselfishness,
Her life of kindness,
Love, understanding and forgiveness,
But, she is penniless,
Is no joke!
When people around with rudeness poke!
She waits patiently,
Living a life of two worlds,
Wondering which uncurls,
Itself into oblivion…..
Leaving her beaten…..

'Transition'
Skies of Grey,
There is a face cushioned on clouds of fey,
Those bedazzling grey eyes,
A cameo of sadness at bottom neck does lies,
Moanfully laced up to the neck,
Agonisingly tired loss of loved one, she is somewhat of a wreck,
Hair dolled up with white lilies,
So pure!!
Rebirth of mind and soul for sure,
Red ribbon band around her hand,
Clear to see that passion and anger to understand,
Playfully the red ribbon
Moves in the breeze,
Just a little hint of tease!!
A chapter in her life is closed!!
Another to open while she stays composed!!
'In the Webs'
A life cocooned in a web,
So much to be said,
So little time there is,
An eye looking out,
To say “Hi!!”
But really she is asking “Why??”
Can you not help her??
Is she beyond repair??
Or do you really care??
Her eyes are bleeding,
The web around her is her life,
Full of lies, hopelessness and strive,
Still she looks out,
The web is slowly strangling her,
And the spider is her guilt,
Is closing up,
Can you not give her another chance??
Lance!!
That spider and set her free,
For all her guilt is very plain to see,
There is still good in her,
Or do you just see a blur??
Or does something in your hear still stir,
Where there is good, there is always love,
Take her from her place….
And let her life have meaning and grace…..
