About “Despair”: “Despair” is the third and last piece in a series of conceptual lip art. The artwork displays dark red lips in a muted color palette, which are closed and expressionless, emphasizing feelings of hopelessness and despair. Withered, dry flowers overlap the lips using plaster that is attached to the chin. The muted tones contribute to a somber mood, creating an atmosphere of decay and fragility. The word “despair” is prominently written on the plaster, further reinforcing the emotional intensity. The overall composition, including the muted tones and delicate yet deteriorating flowers, aims to visually capture the essence of despair and emotional struggle.

About “Hope”: Being the second piece of a series of conceptual lip art, “Hope” features bright orange-red lips that are slightly parted, symbolizing a sense of hope. Delicate buds of flowers and green shoots emerge below the lips, held in place by a plaster with the title of the artwork written on it, reinforcing the theme. The vibrant colors and gentle expression reflect an optimistic message, blending nature and surreal elements to represent healing, resilience, and new beginnings.

About “Courage”: “Courage” is a piece of conceptual lip art featuring red lips that are slightly open. Blossoming flowers in yellow, white, and violet are delicately stuck to the lips with a plaster, which has the word “courage” written on it. The plaster symbolizes healing and support, while the flowers represent growth and resilience. The juxtaposition of the lips, symbolizing both vulnerability and strength, and the flowers convey a message of finding beauty in bravery, even when it’s difficult. The theme of this lip artwork evokes strength and growth, using vivid contrasts between the delicate flowers and the bold lips to emphasize the power of overcoming adversity.
