Drawing a five-pointed star is really no rocket science, and if you’re using a digital editing program it’s even more easy because it will allow you to create perfectly straight lines.
But your lines don’t even have to be perfectly straight. Remember, art doesn’t have to be perfect, and if your strokes on paper are a bit wobbly, it doesn’t matter. Even obviously hand-drawn stars can look incredibly cute. (ᵕᴗᵕ)
Below is an easy way to draw a 5-pointed star step by step: start by drawing a straight vertical line. This line just serves as a guide to help you draw the star.
Then draw an upside down “V” whose top point is directly on the vertical line. If you’re using digital art software, you can create a perfectly straight line by holding the Shift key while moving the pen over the tablet.
In the second step, duplicate the “V” twice by pressing CMD + J on a Mac or CTRL + J on a PC if you’re working with Photoshop. Flip the two “Vs” vertically, rotate them a bit to the left and the right, and align them around the vertical guide to make their end points touch the guide.
Create again a copy of any of the “V” shapes and arrange it to complete the star on the left side. You can use another guide to make sure that the end point of that “V” is aligned with the point of the “V” on the opposite site.
Repeat again for the right side—and you’re done with the easy 5-point star drawing! Switch off the guides in your digital art software or erase them on your paper. It’s no problem if your star drawing isn’t perfectly symmetrical; I’ve eyeballed everything as well! (>ᴗ<)
