You want to grow your art account on Instagram but don’t have time to manage all your posts beautifully? This is where Instagram planners come in! In this review, we’re going to take an in-depth look at Planoly, covering everything from how to use it, how much money it costs, and whether Planoly is safe and approved by Instagram. We’re also going to see how Planoly fares compared to other social media planners, such as Post Planner, ContentStudio, SocialPilot, and Sendible! So, let’s get started!

Is Planoly safe?

Instagram offers an opportunity for artists to create exposure for your work. It’s a visual-focused social media network, and we know that everyone of us likes to scroll through beautiful and appealing Instagram feeds, right?

In one of my recent posts, I summed up the 10 DOs & DON’Ts For Artists Posting Art On Instagram, and I also published a tutorial on How To Upload Digital Art To Instagram.

So far, so good. But fact is the best IG tips won’t work if you don’t post consistently.

The problem is that managing your Instagram feed and making it look beautiful and appealing at all times can be time-consuming and tiresome. And as artists, we naturally want our Instagram profile to look stunning.

But it’s not just about the looks. A well-organized feed also improves your chances to successfully sell your art on the platform!

This is where social media schedulers come in to help.

Planoly was the first visual Instagram planner in the market.

Meanwhile, it has been joined by a range of similar tools designed to help you organize your Instagram posts in an aesthetic way. These include Post Planner, ContentStudio, SocialPilot, and Sendible.

Just like Planoly, these platforms allow you to schedule content in advance and automatically post it to Instagram (and other social media networks) without you having to do anything!

But that’s not all they can do. Actually, they come complete with hashtag organization, analytics, and some even have an AI assistant that writes the captions for you. These are just a few examples of what they can do.

In this post, we’ll be taking a deep dive into Planoly, exploring how it works, what it can do, how much it costs, and whether Planoly is safe to use for Instagram. Apart from that, we’ll also see how Planoly stacks up against the other social media planners I mentioned above.

So, let’s get into it!

Does Planoly post for you?

Yes! Planoly lets you schedule your posts for weeks ahead and then auto-posts them for you, without requiring any manual effort on your side. Everything is conventiently automatic.

You can use Planoly for a variety of posts types, such as single images, image carousels, Instagram stories and reels. You also have the option to automatically post your IG content to six other social networks, namely Facebook, Threads, Pinterest, X (formerly Twitter), TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube.

That being said, Planoly allows you to auto-post content to all major social networks. The only network that’s currently still missing is Bluesky—a relatively new platform that quickly gained popularity with artists, though. Being an alternative to X/Twitter, Bluesky (still) features a chronological feed and is not cluttered with ads, as opposed to Instagram.

Despite being relatively new, Bluesky has been attracting a growing community of artists, art galleries and magazines, and other creatives who appreciate the platform for its organic engagement and growth potential.

With that in mind, if posting on Bluesky is part of your promotional strategy, you might want to consider using Post Planner, ContentStudio, SocialPilot, or Sendible.

On the other hand, if your main focus is on Instagram and Pinterest to share your art blog, Tailwind might be a great alternative for you. Tailwind is tailored to Pinterest, but also allows you to share content to Instagram and Facebook.

Is Planoly safe to plan your entire IG content?

Planoly’s visual planner allows you to have your entire IG feed on point.

You can upload images and videos to the Planoly library, and then organize them by simply dragging & dropping them to where they fit best. With that done, you can start scheduling your posts.

If you’re using the desktop version of Planoly, you’ll see a visual planning tool on the left and a calendar on the right. Planoly’s mobile user interface features a  “+” button at the bottom of the screen, which you can tap to add new content.

On both the desktop and the mobile app, you can work out captions, add saved hashtags, and then schedule your posts and have Planoly auto-post them for you.

Unlike other Instagram planners, Planoly offers you the same convenience for Instagram stories and reels!

Is Planoly safe to organize your Instagram hashtags?

Planoly comes with a built-in hashtag library.

You can create groups of hashtags, save them, and then use them for your posts as needed. Being able to save hashtags is incredibly timesaving. Once you need a certain group of hashtags, you can just add them to your post at the push of a button.

Planoly keeps track of the number of hashtags used within one group, so there are never more than the permitted maximum of 30 hashtags that you apply to a post.

This is so very useful because on Instagram everything is about hashtags. They get your art out there to your favorite audience, they create exposure for your work, and they allow you to eventually connect with art lovers and customers.

Therefore, doing your hashtag research once and then having them handy is simply priceless!

Is Planoly safe to create a shoppable feed?

sellit is Planoly’s add-on feature that allows you to transform your Instagram feed into a shoppable gallery.

You can sell your art directly to customers on Instagram, without the need for a special e-commerce website.

As Instagram doesn’t allow adding links to captions, it’s rather difficult to drive sales from the platform directly.

Using sellit makes it easy for you to sell physical prints or digital copies of your art directly via your IG profile!

Is Planoly safe to let it post for you?

Planoly is a third-party app that allows you to auto-post to your Instagram profile.

Everybody has heard of third-party apps violating Instagram’s terms of service. Accounts using third-party apps on Instagram already happened to be banned for a certain period of time or even suspended for good.

However, with Planoly, you don’t need to worry about that: Planoly is an official Instagram partner!

Is Planoly approved by Instagram?

As an official Instagram partner, Planoly has been approved by Meta, the behind that social media platform.

Therefore, Planoly is a legitimate resource to help Instagrammers grow their accounts.

If you take a quick glance over to Planoly’s blog, you can read that, “This partnership program was created to help brands and advertisers to find various technology partners and/or collaborators that can help them get further on Instagram and amplify their digital strategies.”

So, you can be sure that all is well!

Does Planoly cost money?

Planoly used to have a free version with a decent set of features. However, the company has discontinued this offer.

Now, the cheapest option is the Starter plan for $16 per month, or $14 when billed annually. The Starter plan allows you to upload up to 60 posts each month for one social set, meaning you can have 1 account on each social platform Planoly supports.

While 60 posts per month should be totally sufficient for most users, you can upgrade to Planoly’s Growth plan for an unlimited number of monthly uploads and 3 different users for $28 per month, or $24 when billed annually.

Is Planoly safe to invest money in?

Planoly is best for visual content planner for Instagram because it comes with a visual drag-and-drop editor to create an appealing Instagram grid. This is where Planoly stands out against other social media schedulers.

However, if you’d like to schedule to multiple platforms at a time, automatically have your evergreen content reposted, and find viral posts, quotes, and images to share, go with Post Planner. With its free plan and pricing starting at $9/month, Post Planner offers great value for money and is the most budget-friendly social media scheduler on the list.

ContentStudio is great for AI-powered content curation and multi-platform scheduling. It works with Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, Google My Business, and even blogs. That makes ContentStudio the most feature-rich social media manager. With its cheapest plan starting at $19/month, its a serious competitor to Planoly’s Starter plan for $16 per month.

SocialPilot shines with multi-platform scheduling, team collaboration features, and advanced analytics. If that’s your focus, the Essentials plan for $25.50/month might well be worth the investment.

Sendible also supports multiple platforms, team collaboration, and advanced analytics. In addition to that, the Social Listening feature allows you to track mentions of your brand and competitors across social media. With its cheapest Creator plan for $29 per month, Sendible is on the more expensive side compared to other social media schedulers and thus rather interesting for creative entrepreneurs.

Tailwind offers unique Pinterest-specific tools, making it ideal for art bloggers who want to attract traffic to their blog through Pinterest. Tailwind works well for Instagram and Facebook, too, but does not support other social media networks. Much like Planoly, pricing starts at $14.99 per month—but there’s also a free forever plan!
