If you’ve landed on this post, chances are you already understand how important it is for artists to have an email list. And you are absolutely right!

Having a list of subscribers is the best way to connect with your audience, keep them updated on your latest creations, and let them know about your artwork for sale.

Social media will never be able to replace the power of your own mailing list. We all know how unpredictable those algorithms can be. They are constantly changing, restricting the organic reach of your posts in favor of paid ads. At the end of the day, social platforms are businesses with their own profit in mind…

The truth is, when you rely on social media, you’re essentially building your community on rented digital land. You don’t get to decide who actually sees your content. Take Instagram, for instance: it’s obvious that most of your posts only reach a tiny fraction of your followers.

Email is different. Your list belongs to you. Nobody can stop your messages from reaching the inboxes of people who genuinely want to hear from you.

The good news is that there’s an entire ecosystem of email marketing platforms with all the features you’ll need to build and maintain a list of subscribers!

In this post, I’m reviewing the best email marketing platforms for artists in 2025, covering their ease of use, template designs, automation tools, free and premium features, and how well they help you connect with your audience and promote your art.

These are my top 3 picks:

What is email marketing for artists?

Email marketing is a way for artists to reach out to their audience by sending them messages directly to their inbox.

It’s a fantastic way to stay in touch, share updates, promote new work, and build deeper connections with people who care about your work—whether it’s fans, collectors, galleries, or potential buyers.

Here’s what artists typically use email marketing for:

Why should artists have an email list?

As I already mentioned above, you cannot solely rely on social media to get the word out about your art.

Email allows you to forge a more personal connection with an audience that is genuinely interested in your content. How do you know? Well, after all, the people on your list gave you direct access to their inbox by subscribing to your newsletter!

On top of that, email reaches a larger global audience of around 4.4 billion email users, compared to only 2.5 billion social media users. This makes email marketing 40 times more effective than social media when it comes to customer acquisition.

This is precisely why every artist and creative entrepreneur should have an email list.

In addition to that, email marketing is also the best way to monetize your art blog. The people signing up through your blog or website already know you, trust you, and are way more likely to buy from you than someone who just randomly lands on your social media feed.

However, to encourage people to sign up for your email list in the first place, it’s a good idea to have a lead magnet. Why? Well, people don’t usually hand out their email just because you ask nicely. They need a good reason—something helpful, interesting, or exciting for them.

A lead magnet is something valuable that you give away for free in exchange for people’s email address. You can think of it as the “thank you” gift for joining your list.

Evidently, your lead magnet should be related to your blog, art, or business. If you’re not sure what kind of incentive to offer, you can grab a free PDF with the top lead magnet ideas for artists in the Freebie Library!

Equally important as a lead magnet is having more than one email opt-in on your website. Aim for at least two or three!

Here are a few good places to add an email opt-in form:

    • At the top of your website (where people see it first)
    • In your sidebar
    • In the footer
    • Inside blog posts
    • As a pop-up

Having several sign-up spots means your visitors are way more likely to notice one—and when they do, they’re much more likely to join your list.

With that being out of the way, you only need to pick an email marketing platform that allows you to collect email addresses, manage subscribers, and send out automated emails!

5 Best Email Marketing Platforms for Artists
    (Review 2025)

    1. AWeber

AWeber provides a complete email marketing platform tailored to individuals and businesses alike, making it a great option for artists and creative entrepreneurs.

AWeber’s all-round package allows you to capture contacts through landing pages and opt-in forms, manage your subscriber list; design, schedule, and send out newsletters and email broadcasts; automate your email marketing campaigns, and track your performance with analytics and reports.

You can choose from a number of premade basic sign-up forms and landing pages that you can edit and customize with AWeber’s drag-and-drop editor, allowing you to adapt colors, fonts, and images.

However, if you want an opt-in for your WordPress site that perfectly matches your artist branding, you might want to use a plugin like Bloom with more extensive customization options.

Advanced tools include personalization (to automatically add each subscriber’s name to your emails), as well as tagging and segmentation. Tags act as labels you can assign to subscribers, making it easy to highlight specific details about them.

Segments, on the other hand, group subscribers based on their behavior and information—such as whether they opened an email, clicked a particular link, made a purchase, visited a specific page on your site, or based on their location by IP address.

AWeber also integrates with a wide range of third-party platforms, including social media and other platforms that are particularly useful for artists, such as:

Unfortunately, AWeber does not offer Google Analytics integration at this point in time. If tracking clicks in your emails with Google Analytics is important to you, you should consider an email marketing platform like MailerLite

AWeber’s pricing plans are based on the number of subscribers, with every plan giving you access to all available features, including email automation, a drag-and-drop email builder, and A/B testing.

The free plan allows up to 500 subscribers and comes with all essential email marketing tools. Once your list grows above 500 subscribers, you’ll have to upgrade to the Lite plan, starting at $12.50 per month.

Higher-tier plans increase the subscriber limit and unlock additional features, such as web push notifications and AMP emails.

In any case, you can try AWeber’s premium plans free for 30 days before selecting a plan. Plus, there’s a discount available for customers who pay annually, instead of monthly.

    2. MailerLite

MailerLite is one of the most budget-friendly email marketing providers available out there. Its user interface is simple, yet offers enough advanced features to design appealing newsletters and email campaigns, making MailerLite one of the best best email marketing platforms for artists.

The drag-and-drop editor is easy to use. Content blocks are organized into categories, letting you conveniently add elements like headers, text, and images. Compared to AWeber, MailerLite’s editor includes some additional advanced features, such as two-column layouts, multiple hero images, and varied call-to-action designs.

MailerLite provides various solutions for creating different kinds of emails, including eCommerce promotions and product showcases. For that purpose, MailerLite also integrates with platforms like Shopify and WooCommerce.

When it comes to creating email sign-up forms for your website, you can choose from more than two dozen premade templates, including full-screen, half-screen, modal, and slide-in designs.

The available content blocks include options like text, images, countdown timers, as well as social media links, allowing you to customize your forms for a more targeted and engaging experience.

Additionally, there are several compliance features, such as privacy policy links, confirmation options, GDPR settings, and a reCAPTCHA checkbox.

MailerLite offers a free plan that allows you to have up to 1,000 subscribers and send out up to 12,000 emails per month. It gives access to essential features like the drag-and-drop email editor, email automation, website and landing page builder, and sign-up forms.

MailerLite’s premium plans belong to the most affordable in the industry. The Growing Business plan starts at $9 per month for 1,000 subscribers, offering unlimited emails, access to newsletter and landing page templates, dynamic campaigns, and more.

There’s also a higher tier, the Advanced plan, for unlimited account users and extra tools like a custom HTML editor, promotional pop-ups, and multiple automation triggers.

All in all, MailerLite is an affordable option for new artpreneurs and creatives wanting to get started with email marketing on a small budget.

    3. ConvertKit

ConvertKit, now rebranded to Kit, was founded in 2013 by a blogger who was looking for a creator-friendly email marketing solution. Now, with more than half a million users, Kit is one of the largest email marketing platforms, specifically tailored to bloggers, creators, and other small entrepreneurs.

Kit’s user interface is intuitive and easy to manage even for beginners. It equips users with everything they need to engage and convert their audience. Additionally, it also includes some unique features not commonly available in other services, such as solutions for selling digital products and subscriptions, and a newsletter referral program.

Kit’s greatest strength is the generous subscriber limit on its free plan. No other platform allows up to 10,000 contacts on their free plan, which definitely makes Kit the best email marketing platform for artists with a huge subscriber base.

However, one thing to know about Kit is that email automation workflows are only available on the paid plans. But when you become a paying customer, you have a very powerful tool in your hands that lets you create complex paths based on actions, events, and conditions.

The visual workflow builder is straightforward and comes with over 20 ready-made automation templates that meet the needs of any creator.

The email sign-up forms are easy to personalize with a similar drag-and-drop editor you would use for designing your newsletters. There are around 10 ready-to-use sign-up templates available in several formats, such inline, modal pop-ups, slide-ins, and sticky bars.

You can customize any template by changing colors, adding images, text, and countdown timers to match your artist brand and message.

As I mentioned above, Kit’s free plan comes with an outstanding subscriber limit of up to 10,000 contacts, but you won’t be able to set up email automations or sequences.

Nevertheless, you can create unlimited landing pages, forms, and broadcast emails, use audience tagging and segmentation, and sell digital products and subscriptions. Which is pretty amazing for a free plan.

If you want to have access to email automation workflows, you’ll need to be at least on the Creator plan, starting from $25/month for up to 1,000 subscribers. Before you commit, you can always try Kit’s premium features free for 14 days.

    4. Brevo

Brevo, formerly Sendinblue, is an all-in-one platform for email marketing, SMS campaigns, marketing automation, CRM, live chat, and more.

The most important part in email marketing is usually the workflow builder. Luckily, Brevo’s marketing automation tools are simple and user-friendly—and available in the free plan.

There’s a range of ready-made workflow templates that you can customize to fit your specific needs, such as welcome emails, birthday greetings, activity-based messages, and notifications for abandoned carts, website visits, or products purchased.

Altogether, there are around 50 email templates to choose from. They are beautifully designed and responsive to look good on both desktop and mobile devices. This alone justifies Brevo’s place on the best email marketing platforms for artists.

In addition to that, the templates are a great fit for beginners and more seasoned marketers alike, because they are easy to customize, while still offering features for advanced requirements.

One thing to keep in mind about Brevo is that the landing page builder is only available on the Business plan and that there is limited support for integrations. Brevo works fine with Google Analytics and e-commerce platforms like Shopify and WooCommerce, but currently doesn’t offer as many niche tools as some other platforms.

Nevertheless, Brevo has received several awards in recent years, including for customer support and ease of use—meaning you can be sure to be in good hands when choosing Brevo!

Brevo comes with a forever free plan that gives you access to email templates, the drag-and-drop editor, transactional emails, and also lets you create SMS and WhatsApp campaigns. However, the free plan limits you to 300 emails per day, and requires purchasing credits for SMS and WhatsApp messages.

If you have a substantial list of subscribers and also wish to get basic analytics and reporting, you’ll need to be at least on the Starter plan for $8.08 per month. While Brevo has a few limitations, it’s affordably priced and user-friendly, making it a reliable and scalable marketing solution for small business owners like creative entrepreneurs.

    5. Constant Contact

Constant Contact has been part of the email marketing landscape since 1995. Over the years, it has become one of the most widely used email platforms in the world.

What sets Constant Contact apart from other email marketing providers is the range of extra features that many competitors don’t offer, such as event management tools and social media campaign options. These additions make it especially attractive to specific audiences.

On top of that, it provides a wide variety of email features, including email automations and recurring newsletters—the main reason Constant Contact is part of this list of the best email marketing platforms for artists!

You can create custom emails from scratch with Constant Contact’s visual builder. But if you’d rather not start from zero, you can choose one of their ready-made email templates and tweak to fit your style.

Like many other email marketing platforms, Constant Contact has recently added some AI-powered writing tools. If you’re stuck trying to come up with a good subject line, product description, social post, or even the email itself, you can let the AI suggest ideas for you.

As an extra bonus, Constant Contact offers video guides to help explain your reports and tons of tips on things like writing better subject lines and boosting your open rates!

With beautiful email templates Constant Contact is one of the best email marketing platforms for artists
You can choose one of Constant Contact's ready-made email templates and tweak to fit your style. (Image Credit: Constant Contact)

Unlike some other email marketing platforms, Constant Contact doesn’t have a free plan that lasts forever. Instead, it offers a 14-day free trial so you can test out all its features. Some geographic regions also have access to longer trial periods.

After the trial, you’ll need to pick one of three plans. Each plan is based on a tiered pricing model, where the cost increases as your number of contacts grows.

While Constant Contact’s plans start at a reasonable $12 per month, that entry-level option only supports up to 500 subscribers—and the cost rises quickly as your list grows.

That’s why Constant Contact is a solid option for artists with a smaller but engaged subscriber base they sell to directly through email. For that purpose, Constant Contact integrates with payment gateways like PayPal and Stripe, but also platforms like SquarespaceShopifyWooCommerce—and even Etsy, which is particularly convenient for artists!
